Hey all,
I am working on a new story. It will be very different for me (i.e. not a fantasy story... well not really.) It will be mostly pulp, based in the mid to late 1930's. If you're a it's set in the world of adventure, lots and lots of adventure. If you're not a gamer, it's basically like the Mummy and Indiana Jones only much less awesome. I'm so not that good of a writer. I wanted to know if there was any interest in reading it here. If I get a bunch of responses I'll post the story on LJ. If not, I'll just send it to the people who comment and have an interest in reading/offering feedback.

I'm back in Massachusetts for break. Staying with my dad and stepmom out in North Andover, though possibly transfering over to stay with my sister later this week. It depends on how many video games the guy she is staying with has and will let me use. (Yay friends with video games.) Right now I'm just sitting around, doing nothing. It's going to be the norm for this vacation (so unlike the last two... except not.)
The trip home was fine. I got up at 7ish to get the bus stop by 8:30. The bus got into O'Hare around 10 and I waited around until 12:20 for my flight. The flight was fine... except the landing when we hit a bunch of turbulence coming in to land at Logan. Did I mention that Logan is right on Boston Harbor so it looks like you're going to crash land in the water every second up until the wheels of the plane touch the runway. Then I made my way through Logan to the terminal where my sister was supposed to pick me up. It only took her three passes of the terminal and four phone calls of "Where the fuck are you???" to find me. So this was a quite successful navigation of Logan for all involved.
Basically, I hate Logan. Hate it hard.
But that's over and now I am fully planning on doing nothing for a few days. Rest is good.

So... new school year. I spent all of today (and part of yesterday) prepping for the Freshmen Orientation and then doing the Freshmen Orientation. My freshmen were cool and they actually talked... unlike my year.
So yeah... Class schedule
A: Free (haha! I WIN!) B: Leadership with Goddard and Dover (cool class, not a bad group and Ms. Dover is rather intimidating) C: Comtempory Conflicts with Wilkins (I've heard mixed things about her, and about the class, but i needed something to fill in time, so there it is. Probably won't be terribly fascinating.) D: AP Euro with Stark (Awesome. Still need to finish my book, but it's okay since I'm further along than some other people in the class. I think I'll survive.) E: Spanish with Zilles (does anyone know who that is? I don't. Why am I still taking Spanish?) F: Intro Calculus (it says CALCULUS, oh geez.) with Lane (who I have also never heard of) G: AP English (cuz I'm crazy) with DePeter(who I'm a bit nervous about, but whatever, I'll get over it.)
So if anyone has any of these classes I would love to know if we had homework or anything since I wasn't actually there today to get it.

I can't keep on with this I can't hurt like this I can't cry like this I'm running out of tears And I'm running out of words I'm running out of strength I've lost my peace of mind I've lost who I am And who I was. I can't keep worrying like this I can't wonder anymore It's going to tear me apart I can't keep going But I'm too weak to stop.
(P.S. Don't worry. I'm okay, don't freak on me.)

So college visiting went well. I wasn't a big fan of Sarah Lawrence, especially when I found out they are the most expensive college in the country now. Umm... so yeah. I saw Hamilton and Colgate too and despite the INSANE heat it was pretty fun. The Colgate tour guide dressed and looked quite a bit like my dad. Strange. I liked Hamilton better than Colgate, but I will probably end up applying to both at this point. They're both a bit preppy though. I have NEVER seen so many polo shirts in one place in my entire life. Most of the schools I like I unfortunately cannot visit until I get accepted to them. My top choice is still Whitman, followed by Kenyon and Macalester (who are pretty much tied for second). Whitman is in Washington (not D.C.), Kenyon's in Ohio and Macalester is in Minnesota. So yeah, visiting not happening. I am actually looking forward to applying to college being the crazy person I am. Can't wait to get the hell out of here.

Sometimes life is just amazing. This morning was one of those "sometimes". I woke up this morning and it really hit me that I am finally done with junior year and I was insanely happy. Then I realized I had summer reading and was upset for like 2.5 seconds until I read the list and discovered that I already own two of the three books and have read one of them. So that made me happy. Then I spent the day doing nothing, which added to the happy and rediscovered the awesomeness of mutedfaith.com.
So all in all, no school = very happy Carly!

I am procrastinating RIDICULOUSLY! Go me. I started the English paper yesterday, but I don't want to work on it anymore. And i should really study for my math test because I have been consistently getting C's in that class, but I just don't care anymore. I hate math... the end. Chem final will be ridiculously easy though and so will Spanish once I actually, you know, study! And English in-class section I'm not even gonna worry about because I have taken too many damn finals in that class already.
Let's list the American Studies Finals I have taken shall we? 1) 33 (yes 33) page paper with my partner about 4 exhibits we created about the American Identity throughout history. 2) presenting a mock-up of one of the 4 exhibits (creating the miniature of it was a BITCH!) 3) Final paper for each class, each being roughly 6-7 pages 4) FINALLY, the in-school section with an in-class essay for the actual final
So yeah. I hate school.

Wait a minute here... I thought SATS were supposed to be difficult. Given how everyone stresses over them I assumed I would come into a stiflingly hot room with no windows and an evil proctor who glares endlessly at you and barks the time out every three seconds making it impossible to do your work without earplugs. But apparently that's not the case. No I got a very comfortable room with windows (that actually opened) and a proctor (Ms. Richardson) who, although she does have the tendency to speak loudly and abruptly, did not yell the time every three seconds. The questions were not particularly hard and although it was long it was nowhere near the ordeal that I've heard it described as. It was so not bad that if I find my scores less than satisfacory I will take the test again willingly.
I also did something that every parent (expect apparently my mother) hates the night before SATS. I went out with a friend, not to study or even slightly enrich my mind, but to watch a brainless action movie. We weren't out that late, despite getting lost a bit, and I managed to get about as much sleep as I normally would for a school day, meaning my brain was functioning at normal capacity. (For those of you who have seen me in class at school you will not be surprised when I tell you in a month that I will probably be retaking the test.) But really, aside from my lack of brain activity, the test was not that bad. I would rate it harder than the MCAS, but nowhere near as difficult (or even in the same league) with the AP test.
Tomorrow: The AIDS walk and then massive amounts of homework that will force me to think far more than I had to for the SATS. And laundry... lots and lots of laundry.

So new schedules came out... mine's really fucked up, but Ms. Gadenz and I fixed it... kind of. So here is my new (and improved schedule) and what I know about blocks and who's teaching.
Leadership (B) AP Euro (D) - Stark? I think... Contemporary Conflicts (easy class but I don't want 8 frees) Spanish AP English 514 Math... (EWWW!)
I think I have A-block frees again... (YAY!)
P.S. If anyone wants to do the AIDS walk with me this weekend please call me or talk to me at school. It will be very fun and not at all hot (crosses fingers). It would be a great belated birthday gift to me (hint hint) and you don't need sponsors, I just need people to walk with.
P.P.S It's way too hot today. And our school's air conditioner is broken. No, not turned off. Broken.

AIDS walk Boston is June 4th this year. If you are physically able to walk 6 miles... and believe me if I can do it anyone can, I will be forcing you to do it with me.
40.3 million people in 2005 have been documented as living with AIDS or HIV. There were 4.9 million newly infected people in 2005. 3.1 million deaths were reported only in 2005 from complications of AIDS and HIV. Since 1981 there have been over 25 million AIDS related deaths worldwide. People 15-24 account for HALF of the new HIV infections worldwide - more than 6000 become infected everyday. Of the 6.5 million people in developing and transitional countries who need life-saving AIDS drugs, only 1.3 million are receiving them. 1095 people are infected in Massachusetts every year, that's 2-3 a day.
I will be talking to people at school too, but please try to do this walk. It's not very hard and it's very worth it. You can visit www.aac.org for more information.

My birthday is in exactly a week. I have no idea what to do for it. If anyone has any ideas please leave a comment. Also I'm not turning 17. I'm really not. I'm turning 16 again. I swear. Or maybe 2, 2 was a good age.
